Olly

Hi everyone, Olly is doing really well with his reading (especially when he looks at the words, sounds them out and joins the sounds together - rather than just guessing !). He also writes really good stories - especially about his accident at home. Love Mum and Dad.

Will

Wow - what fantastic learning in Team 3!!!! Thank you Will for letting us come into your classroom and share the wonderful maths, writing and Maori you have been doing. We loved seeing your cool calendar art and my favourite was when you read a story to everyone. Keep up your great work Will!!!!!

Alexander Acton Adams

Alex is making great progress with his reading and recognising words. We are very proud of you! He seems to be naturally adept at maths.

Bella F

Bella enjoys reading and playing with her friends. She loves drawing and is excited to come to school each day.

charlotte Kirwan

"It is fun at school!" That's what Charlotte says. She seems to have taken to it like a duck to water, making friends and clearly enjoying her experience so far. We are all so pleased to be part of such a lovely class and school environment. It's been a great start to what will hopefully be a long and wonderful relationship with learning.

Phoebe Young

Goodness Phoebe, you are doing so well at school! You are now reading the yellow books with very little assistance, you know all of your shapes and how many sides they have. You also know your Mihi very well and can recite it unassisted. I loved your creative storywriting as well. Comment from Phoebe: i like doing my storywriting.

Keeping Healthy

As part of our inquiry, we have been learning about how our body works and how and why we get sick. In class we did an experiment with Mrs N and Miss Kennedy to learn about germs and how germs are spread.

Mrs N put some flour on our hands and we had to gently blow the flour off to see where it (the germs) go when we cough. We then talked about how germs can get into our body through cuts, our mouth, eyes and ears. We brainstormed all the ways that we can help stop the spread of germs.

During writing, we wrote instructions on how to keep healthy and also filmed our ideas so we could share our learning with others. Come and have a look at our movie to see how you can keep healthy over winter.
